The practice of writing things down and moving ink across a page has become both sacred and necessary for my well being and my creativity. I use my journal (and a very long Google Doc.) as places to write and rewrite my life. I see who I am and who I am becoming by what spills out on the page. Writing always makes me feel better.

Writing is a way to pay closer attention to ourselves and the world around us. I love to share journaling practices, poetry and simple writing prompts in my work with clients and with groups.

I guide writing workshops in downtown State College at The Makery and hold workshops online.

As a Language Arts Teaching Artist with Ridgelines Language Arts, I facilitate healing centered writing groups for survivor support groups with Centre Safe: A State College center that empowers survivors of sexual or domestic violence, and works towards the elimination of such violence.

I began my teaching career as a 7th grade language arts teacher. I then worked in teacher training at Penn State University as adjunct faculty. These experiences have provided me with a depth of pedagogy, practice and theory. My true passion is in bringing language arts and writing in to non-academic spaces in creative, connecting and human ways.
